The Park

The park was the hangout in east Oakland in the late seventies.

On those warm late summer and early autumn evenings I would sit on our front porch.  To my right, up the street, I could see a lot of people hanging out. Low-riders would cruise up and down.

We would get excited when we saw a low-rider cruising down hill drop its front end scrape the asphalt and give off sparks.

Joey Gibson Is Wrong

Sitting here watching local news. Joey Gibson is on. He's having some type of event at UC Berkeley.

He got his chance to see his opponents up close and personal.

He claims to be Christian and Libertarian. Hm? Libertarian? I was a registered Libertarian many years ago. The reason I left the Libertarian party is because in a pure Libertarian society there would be very little government and maximum personal freedom. Freedom to do pretty much what ever you want to do.  The reason I'm not in favor of this philosophy (at least not at this time) is because society has too many predators.

Libertarianism would work great in a society free of predators. In such a society people would do whatever they wanted to do with little government interference. In such a society there would be no predators. People would respect the law of compensation. There's no such thing as a free lunch. You're entitled only to what you earn. If you think you got something for nothing, you will have to pay for it. Unfortunately there are many people in society who do not respect the law of compensation. They think they can get something for nothing. As long as we have people who think like this we will have predators. And as long as we have predators Libertarianism will not create its utopian ideal, it will create a society where the stronger will feed on the weaker.

An excellent example of why Libertarianism will not work in today's society is right there in Joey Gibson's camp. The White Supremacists.

As said in the local news, some of the same people holding torches at the Virginia rally are present here at the UC Berkeley rally. These white supremacists are predators who relish the idea of Libertarianism. A society free of government, a society where citizens can do whatever they wish with very little or no government interference. A libertarian society will become barbaric with predators still in it.

So, that's why I left the Libertarian camp and Joey Gibson is wrong.

His own t-shirt describes him. He serves no man. He's self-serving. That's a very predatory way of thinking.

There's That Wall Again

Sitting here listening to the news.

Trump is insisting that if there is no wall, there will be no deal regarding DACA.

Hm?

What exactly is going through Trump's head? He promised to bring jobs back to Amerika. What jobs was he talking about? Maybe he plans to employ people to build a wall. And later when he's out of office more people will be employed to demolish the wall. Then he can leave office saying he accomplished two of his promises. One, to build a wall, and two, to bring more jobs to Amerika.

Thunder! Awesome!

I have already heard thunder three times in about five minutes.

We have had a great heat wave for over a week already. Temperatures have been in the nineties to low hundreds. That's hot here in the Bay Area.

In fact, just yesterday a weather forecaster from a local news channel was telling us about the hurricanes occurring in Florida and Texas. Hmp! Republican states. I couldn't care less.

But anyway, the weather forecaster talked about how beautiful our weather had been.

And now look. I actually saw the lightening flash as I sit here typing this post.

I went to the dentist to have some teeth filled. It had been hot all day. As I walked out to my truck I noticed that a few sprinkles had fallen. WTF! All of a sudden?

Yep, it's been sprinkling on and off and now we actually have thunder and lightening. AWESOME!

The Plaza

Last night I had another one of those astral experiences of mine.

I was in a dream. I was downstairs in the basement. A woman opened the side door and three black armed guys walked in.

WTF! For a brief moment I worried. All three of them had rifles. Suddenly I became lucid, I became aware that I was in the astral. When I became aware that I was in the astral I did not worry much more about those three armed guys. Sure enough, those three guys didn't seem to take any notice of me.

I decided to go explore the astral world again. I walked through the side door and found myself outside. It was daytime and the day was sunny. I found myself in the front plaza of a large skyscraper. It was the downtown area of a city. All around me I saw many people. They seemed to be going through their usual routines.

I began to walk across the plaza and almost bumped onto a man who was also walking nearby. He was walking perpendicular to me, from my right. He didn't seem to notice me.

Shortly afterwards I lost my lucidity and found myself in a normal dream. The interesting thing is that in that normal dream I clearly remembered being lucid just a few moments earlier and I remember making a mental note to myself to remember to write down my experiences as soon as I woke up.

Breezy
