The Tetragrammaton II

A couple of weeks ago I went to a local restaurant for dinner.

"I like your star," said the woman at the front. "Is it custom made?"

"Yes it is." I replied.

She then told me a story of why she likes stars.  Her father is Mexican and when she went to Mexico on one occasion, she was shown a make-out (kissing) place where the stars were very visible and beautiful.

"It's the Tetragrammaton" I said to her. It's full of symbolism.

I went to sit at my table and had my dinner. But before I left I called her over and had a short conversation with her.

I told her the Tetragrammaton is the four-letter-name of God in Hebrew. "It's Yod-Heh-Vau-Heh" I said. She repeated it to me. I repeated it to her again and she repeated it to me again. Yes, that's it. Yod-Heh-Vau-Heh.

She wanted to know if I was spiritual.

Of course I am.

From our short conversation I gathered that she's also a spiritual person in her own personal way.

She is a beautiful young Latina.

Smoky Day

Yesterday at work I smelled a smoky odor. It progressed gradually. At first it was imperceptible but became very perceptible to me by noon. I thought it was just the machines running in the shop.

At the end of the day when I walked out I realized that it was definitely smoke. The air was smoky. It looked like a smoky fog.

I drove away and as I looked around I could see that the smoke was thicker towards the north.

I drove home and was aware that the air all around me was smoky. It was thick.

Today I had an appointment. I went to my appointment. All around I could see people walking around with dust masks on their face. That's how thick the smoke is.

This is an interesting phenomena. A phenomena I have to look into. Natural disasters and politics.

My Sand Box

Over the course of the last few weeks I have been gathering ingredients and materials for burning incense. First I bought Frankincense and Myrrh. Then I bought Aloe. I also bought sulfur and camphor. Those are the ingredients for the incense.

I decided to build a sand box to burn my incense in. I bought the wood and cut it down to size then assembled my wooden box.

When I was growing up we would all go to the beach. It's a nearby beach. I raided it for sand. I collected a good bag full of it and headed home.

Today I filled the box with the sand from my childhood beach. In the center I placed an abalone shell.

At work I raided the dumpster and got a metal mesh to hold the charcoal. I'm wondering if the metal mesh will withstand the hot coal which can reach temperatures over 1,100 degrees F.

This is the reason I have the abalone shell and the sand box. In case the screen cannot withstand the high temperature the coal will fall into the abalone shell and the abalone shell is in a bed of sand from the beach, both should withstand the high temperature and not catch on fire.

I'll watch it the first time I use it. After I'm satisfied, it will be left to burn incense when I'm not present.
