Dreaming Awake II

Dreaming awake does not mean day dreaming. It does not mean living in a fantasy world. Dreaming awake means having your consciousness awake during the dream state, while you're dreaming. AKA astral projecting.

A few years ago I read a book written by Florinda Donner, it was either "Shabono" or "The Witche's Dream" in which she writes about her acquaintance with a sorceress from South America. The said sorceress is quoted as saying "...even when I'm asleep, I'm awake."

For those who astral project, you already know what this means.

For those who do not. It means that even when one (the physical body) is asleep, the consciousness is still awake.

And because it is still awake it perceives the internal worlds in much the same way as the physical body perceives the physical world.

Without a bunch of mumbo jumbo, if your consciousness is awake while your physical body is asleep, you're dreaming awake.

This is what it means to be "Dreaming Awake," or to "Dream Awake."

Dreaming Awake

Last night I had several dreams. Or one very long dream. In one of those dream episodes I found myself in a multi-story building. It was still under construction.

As anyone who has had dreams will confirm, we often dream about our day to day affairs. We dream about things from our past. We dream about anything that has left a lasting impression on our psyche.

Well, last night's dream was no different.

I have worked in the construction industry for many years. I started as an unskilled laborer doing job site clean up and rose up to become a highly skilled tradesman. I started performing work that paid just a little above minimum wage and moved up to skilled work that paid top dollar.

For this reason it's not surprising that in many of my dreams I find myself in construction sites. I lived that life for many years.

So in this particular dream I found myself in a building that was still under construction. I remember walking through the halls. I remember seeing the unfinished walls. I remember seeing the structural steel still exposed.

In this particular dream I was to be trained. I was supposed to attend a class session where I was going to learn to weld.

During my apprenticeship I took welding classes but not enough classes to make me a certified welder. In my dream I was supposed to attend a welding class that was going to be held on the eighth floor of the building. It was early in the morning so I had plenty of time to arrive to class. I got into the elevator and began to ascend . I found out that the elevator was not fully functional and would skip some floors.

I rode the elevator and lost track of the floors. I ended on the tenth floor. I knew it would take a long time for the elevator to return to the ground level and begin its ascension back up again so I decided to take the stairs down to the eighth floor.

I walked throughout the floor looking for the stair well. As I walked around I saw the iron workers engaged in their trade. I walked around looking for the stairs but I couldn't find them. The clock was ticking. I realized that it was ten o'clock. I didn't worry too much because I still had an hour to go. The class was to start at eleven o'clock.

As I walked along a hallway I became aware that I was in a dream. The hallway was carpeted but the walls and ceiling were still unfinished. As I walked along the hallway I suddenly became aware that I was in the astral. I remembered about giving a little jump to see if I floated, to confirm that I was in the astral if I floated, but I decided to not do it. I have had many astral travel experiences in my life. I know when my consciousness awakens. I know what astral projection experiences (lucid dreams) are like. I decided to not do any of the things I normally do when I become aware I'm in the astral, such as giving a little jump, such as exploring the astral. In this instance I decided to simply go along with the dream and continue searching for the stairwell.

I didn't find it.

Eventually I realized it was already eleven and I did not find the location of the class.

Shortly afterwards I woke up, I had returned to the physical world, I was laying in my bed.

UFO Adventures

These posts are a continuation of my "UFO Hunting" posts. As I wrote in my previous post, I'm not actually hunting UFOs, I'm just looking for them. So "UFO Hunting" is now "UFO Adventures."

Well, to get to the main issue at hand this post is about another aerial phenomena I and another coworker  experienced one night as we left the job site.

It was about three years ago. Our crew was working the night shift. Our shift ended and as we walked out of the job site a couple of guys were walking several feet ahead of me and another coworker. We weren't engaged in any specific conversation.

I was just glad the shift was over and we were going home. It was dark so as we walked to our parked cars several yards away I kept my eyes open for obstacles and whatever else was out in front of me. In a nut shell, I was alert of my surroundings, specially the surroundings ahead of me.

Evidently I was not the only one alert of his surroundings. The coworker I was walking with was also alert. As we walked I caught sight of something shooting across the night sky. I saw it fly from the left to the right.

"Did you see that?" I asked the guy I was walking with.

"Yeah, I saw it," he replied.

"Did you guys see it?" I asked the two guys ahead of me.

"Naw, we didn't see anything," they replied.

I made some light fun of them for not being aware of their surroundings.

"Well, we don't walk around looking up at the sky," retorted one of them.

I turned my attention to the coworker I was walking with. "It could have been a UFO," I said to him.

He neither agreed nor disagreed.

Truth be said, it could have been a meteor. I have seen objects shoot across the sky ever since I was just a child. How many of them have been meteors and how many of them have been extraterrestrial ships is an answer I will most likely not get in this life time.

UFO Hunting III

I've decided to change the name of this particular series of posts to "UFO Adventures." I don't think that UFO Hunting is appropriate since I'm not actually hunting UFOs. I'm just looking for them because I know that they are out there. I'm really on a UFO adventure. I'm out looking for them. I want to see and verify their existence. Not necessarily to the world, but at least I want to verify them for myself.

I'll be out on more UFO adventures again.

NOTE:

The Ancient Aliens episode I cited on my previous post is "Ancient Aliens: Declassified; Extraterrestrials and the Spirit Realm."

UFO Hunting II

As I posted in my previous post. I have gone out UFO hunting many times. But only twice have I seen flying objects other than airplanes (jets) or satellites. Tonight is one of those times. The other time was last year during our 4th of July weekend camping trip.

On this particular trip I took my binoculars and night-vision monocular with me. I wanted to show the younglings the night-vision capabilities of my monocular. So the younglings and one of my borthers-in-law went out away from the camp site to take a peak through the monocular. I think that experience was kinda crappy because it being the 4th of July and us out camping I was a bit intoxicated. But anyway, we went out and gave it a shot.

I also suggested we do some UFO hunting. Keep and eye on the sky and see if spot anything moving I said.

To my surprise my brother-in-law spotted something. "Look, something's moving," he said. I looked and sure enough there was an object moving in the sky. And it was not an airplane. Maybe it was a satellite, maybe it was something else. We told the kids where to look and we all saw it.

That was fuck'n awesome! We went back to the campsite excited. "We saw something!" I said. "It was either a satellite or it was a UFO, but we saw something!"

"We all saw it," my brother-in-law said. I do not know if the others believed us but that's irrelevant. We know what we saw. Something in the night sky was moving and it was not an airplane.

UFO Hunting

I have gone out UFO hunting a few times and I have seen unidentified aerial phenomena twice. One of those two times was today.

I planned a short UFO hunting trip for myself for today. So, right after work I went to a nearby restaurant for dinner. I figured it would be a couple of hours before the sun went down. So I decided that having dinner first was in order. I had one of my favorite pub grubs; fish and chips.

The sun went down faster than I thought it would. It was around six in the evening as I sat at the booth and had my dinner. Through the windows I saw that it was already dark. As soon as I finished my dinner I paid and left. I took a short drive up the street, to where the street ended. It ended at an empty field.

I parked and got out of my camper van (Yes, I converted my soccer-mom van into a camper van.) I got my binoculars and night-vision monocular out. It was good and dark all around me but there were lights about a quarter-mile away because I was still within city limits.

I looked up and observed the sky. I looked at it with my naked eyes, with my binoculars and with my night-vision monocular. I also looked around my surroundings. It was mostly quiet but I could hear the hum of city life not far away. I could also hear the crickets. It was beautiful and serene.

While observing the sky I could see many stars, I could see many airplanes, and I could see the new moon. Technically it was not a 100% new moon. Tonight's moon showed the presence of little crescent. It had reached its new moon phase a couple of nights ago but I'll refer to it as a new moon because its so near its new moon phase. Anyway, the new moon slowly dropped below the horizon and the night became a moonless night. The low city lights and the moonless night made it easier to observe objects in the sky.

As I already wrote I saw many planes and many stars. I immediately saw the constellation of Orion. I remembered that by following Orion's belt to the right (I'm in the west coast of the USA) we will see two other celestial objects worth noting. As I looked for any of those objects the first one that I could barely discern was the Pleiades star cluster. I wasn't sure if that is what it was because I was looking at it with my naked eyes. I got my binoculars and looked at it and I could definitely make out the star cluster. I could clearly see the seven sisters.

I remembered about the other object, the star Aldebaran. It is a bright star just to the right of Orion. Aldebaran sits between Orion and the Pleiades. The star is bright enough to be seen with the naked eye. I spotted it fast.

At one point I turned my attention back to sky for moving objects. As I said, I saw many moving objects; they were all airplanes (jets). All except for one.

As I looked towards the north I saw a bright object that appeared to be moving southward, in my direction. I watched it, expecting it to go over me. That object did not look like a plane. I got my binoculars and looked at it again. It did not have the same light pattern that planes have. It actually looked more like a satellite. I know what satellites look like because I have seen them before. I have seen the International Space Station many times.

When observing the international space station it will appear somewhere in the horizon and will disappear somewhere else in the horizon. Sometimes it flies directly overhead. I was expecting this object to fly overhead just like the International Space Station but it did not. It was not coming southward in my direction. It just looked like that from my vantage point. The object actually rose higher in the night sky and vanished. It literally vanished into space.

Sweet! I saw what I was looking for. Or at least I think I did. Truth be said, it was a strange phenomena. As I already wrote, I know what airplanes look like and I know what satellites look like in the night sky. This object was different, it literally flew straight up out of site.

NOTE:

There is an episode of Ancient Aliens in which Nick Pope and a couple of UFO investigators are out in a field observing the night sky. They see an object that appears to be crossing the night sky but instead of crossing the sky it vanishes out into black space.

That is the exact experience I had tonight.
