About a week ago I had a short but very familiar astral experience.
I was walking along the left side of my house. As I walked along I realized I was in a dream. I remembered Samael Aun Weor's instructions to give a little jump to determine if you're in a dream. If you float you'll know you're in the astral.
I decided to not give a little jump. I was quite certain that I was in a dream. I have had astral projection experiences many times and I already knew I was having another one. And just like many other astral projection experiences this one felt very real. Real as in it was difficult to differentiate between my normal vigil state and a lucid state.
I walked along the left side of our house. It's the side of our house that gets very little foot traffic. There's very little there for most of us. Except for me. It's the side of the house through which I often times push my tool cart through towards the front of the house where I work on my cars. Afterwards I push my tool cart back towards our back yard and eventually back into our house.
In this particular experience I was walking along this pathway towards the rear gate that leads to our rear yard. As I walked along I realized that I was dreaming. But it was one of those experiences that's difficult to discern from the vigil state. For a moment I even questioned myself if I was really dreaming or was actually awake (in the vigil state). Due to my prior experiences in the astral I felt certain I was lucid and not in the vigil state.
I continued through the gate and in the other side I met some relatives of mine. They are my young nephews. One of my nephews in particular stood out. I will decline to identify him. I will simply say that he looked depressed. I'm not certain why. I think it is because I was a bit hostile towards him until I realized who he was. This happened because as I crossed that gate I lost a bit of my lucidity and reverted to an ordinary dream state where I was no longer in control of the situation. I attempted to console him once I realized he was my nephew. I'm not certain if I succeeded.
As I lost lucidity the dream continued. I found myself walking along a sidewalk. There were houses and business buildings towards my left. I don't recall exactly what I saw across the street towards my right. At some point I decided to turn around and walk back. As I did, I reached a point where I knew I was reaching the spot where the level ground I was walking on would drop down into a steep hill. At this point I began to gain some lucidity again.
I approached that point and looked down. I saw exactly what I expected to see. There was a lush, beautiful, green valley down below. Down in the valley I could make out a building that looked like, possibly, a temple. It was white and stood out against the lush green of the valley. As I stood there at the edge and admired the lush greenness before my eyes I lost my lucidity and I found myself back in my bed, in my room.
