We all just got back from a weekend of camping. We left early Friday afternoon and returned this afternoon.
It was great! It was sunny and hot. Maybe even a bit too hot, at least for me. I couldn't even get a good nap during the day due to the heat. All I did is just lay there and sweat.
The first night I slept in my tent. I heard some fluttering late at night but I couldn't figure out what it was. I simply went back to sleep. The next evening as I was getting ready to go to sleep I noticed a hoard of small white bugs in my tent. They were fast and I saw some of them jump. WTF! What are these things? There were so many in my tent I gave them the tent and I slept in my vehicle.
This morning as I was taking down my tent I saw a green grasshopper under one of the tent covers. Surprisingly it didn't want to leave. I tried scaring it away but it didn't leave. Eventually I pushed it away.
I was also stung by a wasp. That was strange. I have not been stung by a wasp in the past and I haven't been stung by a bee in over 40 years. But it hit my thumb joint too close to the bone so the stinger didn't go in deep. I felt the pulsing pain for just an instant. Yeah, it couldn't sink its stinger deep enough.
Despite these two mishaps I had a great time. I'm getting ready for the next camping trip.
